The Opportunity
We are excited to welcome the newest member of our Operations team to our Dubbo Site. This site is known as a 'dry' site, and is where we manufacture our #1 Grain Free Kibble Brand "Ivory Coat" and other ambient products.
We are looking for a mechanically-minded and safety-aware machine operator to work Monday to Friday, 2:55pm - 11:00pm with our Mill Operations. We have a competitive Enterprise Agreement and if you are required to work overtime you will receive penalty rates.
Work Safely, Work Independently but be a Team Player - you can work unsupervised but also like being part of a team where you are able to take directions to ensure smooth site operations
This role requires you to be exceptionally SAFETY aware and Mechanically minded as you will be working with large machinery and high volume raw ingredient delivery and processing. Specifically, tasks will include:
- Daily operation of the Mill
- Follow product specifications ie Density, Moisture, Protein – operate NIR
- Selection of correct raw materials to be used in premixes.
- Unloading of trucks following all goods receival and WHS procedures
- Read work order sheets for addition of other materials that may have to be added at hand tips ie Rework.
- The transfer of ingredients from silo’s to batching bins and the accurate recording of all transfers in the transfer logs.
- Ensure correct mill screens for each job are used.
- Check hammer mill screens and sieves for any wear at the start of each shift.
- To keep the Mill areas clean and free of any obstructions at all times with a clean as you go work ethic. Eg you spill it you clean it up.
- To communicate with Extruder Operators at all times.
- Inform Production Supervisor when getting low on ingredients or if production is going to be affected.
- Ensure dalmatic bin is emptied during each shift.
- Tend to stock counts and dips of bins and silos as required.
- Ensure following FIFO stock rotation.
- Ensure all ingredients are put away in correct locations, in a neat and tidy manner and covered at all times.
- Ensure all Magnets are cleaned at the start of each shift or more often as required.
- Ensure all paperwork is filled in correctly and handed in at the end of each shift.
- To assist all plant Supervisors with additional duties as required – ie ingredient counts.
- Maintain and improve quality, food safety and hygiene within area of responsibility and take corrective action in response to quality, food safety and hygiene non-compliance.
- Identify and raise risk management and WHS issues on an on-going basis in relation to area of responsibility to ensure that risks and WHS issues are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
- 100% adherence to quality and health & safety standards.
To be considered for this role you will:
- Have the proven ability to work as part of a team and equally as well working independently.
- A Current Forklift Operators License
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good Attention to detail, and the ability to work unsupervised.
- Be Able to perform all tasks as assigned.
- The ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple tasks.
