We are on the hunt for the next Electrician to join our team. This is a crucial role to support our Yatala site operations.

The successful candidate will be a licensed Electrician who can work autonomously and problem-solve. They will be proactive with strong hands-on skills, able to apply whole business thinking and be adaptable in the way they work.

Working Hours: Day shift, Weekend, Monday and Fridays coverage

Role location: Yatala, Queensland

About your role

• The ‘hands on’ repairs and maintenance of on-site, electrical systems or electrical sub componentry or instrumentation whilst adhering to safe systems of work, compliance to food safety and following engineering standards set out by Real Pet Food.  
• Electrical maintenance work consisting of both unplanned (reactive or breakdown maintenance) as well as planned (corrective, preventative or work that is of a rebuild nature) for both offline or online equipment.
• In ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by timely providing efficient, safe, food safe and compliant electrical maintenance, whilst in their designated shift coverage (day, afternoon, or night).
• Being first point of contact for electrical maintenance requirements from on-site internal customers (Operations, Safety, Quality and Engineering), but also the timely escalation for additional assistance or work outside their remit (e.g mechanical, other specialised trades) in line with ‘RPF Escalation Protocols’. 
• Completing any assigned or planned work (corrective, preventative or work that is of a rebuild nature), and the scoping of material or additional labour requirements for work that they identify as ‘requests for work’.
• Time to time investigations of electrical, control, infrastructure or automation systems, and the immediate escalation and reporting of safety or food safety – near miss reporting, incidents or hazard reporting.

What will help you succeed

• Experience in the repair/maintenance in a fast-paced environments such as those from a modern manufacturing environment.
• Hands on electrical trades experience in a breakdowns as well as planned preventative maintenance.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Licenced electrician within Queensland holding a Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent.
• Background knowledge of refrigeration, boilers, compressed air, power generation, advanced waste-water or trade waste treatment plant.
• Sound understanding of electrical standards such as AS3000, AS3760, managing electrical risks in the workplace and the precautions around testing and fault finding and energised electrical work.
• Excellent communication skills, high-level interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
• A strong team player, ready to be part of our pack, working collaboratively and cross-functionally.
