Head Office / Crows Nest Location
The Real Pet Food Company is a market leader in fresh, natural pet nutrition, creating better food for healthier, happier pets. With a portfolio of trusted brands including Ivory Coat, Billy + Margot, Nature’s Gift and Fussy Cat, we’re challenging the status quo and changing the way pets are fed. Our success comes from combining high-quality ingredients, innovation and genuine passion for pets with the scale and capability to lead the category. We’re growing, ambitious and proudly REAL — and we’re looking for people who want to make their mark.
We’re excited to welcome a Group FP&A Manager who can bring structure, insight and pace to the way we plan, forecast and manage performance across our Group.
This isn’t a role for someone who simply wants to run the annual budget and monthly forecast.
We’re looking for a practical builder and commercial thinker who can lift FP&A maturity, simplify how we report, automate where it makes sense and give leaders a much clearer view of what’s happening across the P&L — and, importantly, what we can do about it.
You’ll have the opportunity to make a visible impact over the next 12–18 months as we continue to evolve and grow the business.
What will you do?
As our Group FP&A Manager, you’ll own the Group’s planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management cadence, turning financial outcomes into clear insights, risks, opportunities and actions for our Executive team.
Your key priorities will include:
Building a consistent FP&A operating model
Standardise planning, forecasting, reporting, metrics, allocation methodologies, data hierarchies and performance measures across the Group.Automate and simplify reporting
Become a centre of excellence for reporting automation, dashboards and analytics, finding smarter ways to get the right information into the hands of decision-makers faster.Strengthen scenario modelling and P&L protection
Develop robust scenario and sensitivity models that help leadership understand the financial impact of changing assumptions, risks and opportunities — and identify where we can intervene.Turn numbers into commercial action
Go beyond reporting the result. Help the business understand why performance is happening, what it means and what needs to happen next.Drive continuous improvement
Challenge existing processes, remove unnecessary complexity and introduce best-practice FP&A approaches that improve both the quality and speed of decision-making.Partner with the business
Work closely with Finance, Operations and Executive leaders to build stronger performance management disciplines and ensure financial insights translate into meaningful business outcomes.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical FP&A capability with a genuine improvement mindset.
You’ll ideally bring:
Strong experience in Group FP&A, commercial finance, performance management or a similar environment
Experience working in a complex, fast-moving organisation, ideally FMCG, manufacturing, consumer goods, retail or supply chain
A proven track record of improving FP&A processes and reporting, rather than simply operating established cycles
Strong financial modelling and scenario-planning capability
Confidence working with systems, data and analytics tools such as Adaptive, Anaplan, Power BI, TM1, SAP/BPC, Tableau or similar
The ability to simplify complex financial information and communicate it clearly to senior stakeholders
Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of how financial performance connects to operational performance
A proactive approach to identifying risks, opportunities and better ways of working
And just as importantly…
You will enhance our team.
We’re looking for someone who is entrepreneurial, resilient, adaptable and comfortable with pace and change.
You’ll need to be curious enough to challenge the status quo, pragmatic enough to build solutions that actually work, and collaborative enough to bring people with you.
Most importantly, you’ll bring a genuine growth mindset — someone who sees ambiguity as an opportunity to build rather than a reason to wait.
Why this role?
This is an opportunity to join a business where you can see the impact of your work.
You’ll have the autonomy to build better ways of working, influence how the Group thinks about performance and help create a more mature, data-driven approach to planning and decision-making.
If you’re an FP&A professional who enjoys building, improving and influencing, rather than simply maintaining the status quo, we’d love to hear from you.
