We are excited to be looking for the next cohort of Qualified Maintenance Fitters to join our Ingleburn Manufacturing Team
This is a crucial role to support the production capabilities of the site and you will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of high-volume food manufacturing equipment, robotic equipment, site services and packaging equipment.
Reporting to our Engineering and Reliability Manager you will be a part of a hard-working team that is highly collaborative and takes pride in keeping our machinery and equipment in peak working order.
The Role
This is a key trades position and is responsible for effectively performing all tasks associated with the fitting activities at Real Pet Food. You will be primarily responsible for carrying out preventative and breakdown maintenance on all machinery and working in compliance with quality and safety systems. Recording maintenance carried out and entering of corrective work in the CMMS. Trouble shooting of varied high-speed manufacturing equipment.
What your days look like:
Ensure that safety and quality are top priority.
Respond immediately to equipment breakdowns, finding and fixing faults.
Troubleshooting and repairs on varied high speed manufacturing equipment.
Undertake and complete scheduled maintenance activities as per the planned maintenance program.
Fabrication of parts for industrial plant and equipment including machining and welding.
Recording preventive maintenance carried out and corrective work in the CMMS (SAP)
Assisting production teams to diagnose faults and find solutions to minimise down time.
Undertake work on special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.
Completion of work passed on from previous shift and handover of important work to the following shift
Process improvement ideas - PM structure improvements, machine upgrades & product issues
Drive GMP awareness and compliance in alignment with quality standards during maintenance activities.
Participate in relevant investigations as required to determine root cause of issue through the doing and engaging with the team to support.
Attend and actively contribute to team meetings.
About You
Ingredients for success
Recognised Fitting Trade Qualification (Ideally a Certificate III Mechanical Trade or Cert III Mechanical Trade – Fitter/Machinist, however a Certificate II or above qualifications in Fluid Power (Pneumatics) or Certificate II or above qualifications in hydraulics or pneumatics is also acceptable)
Ability to work 8-hour OR 12-hour shift roster from 11:00pm to 7:00am, Sunday night/Monday morning to Thursday night/Friday morning (5 shifts per week).
Extensive experience in maintenance activities in high volume/fast paced manufacturing environments.
Intermediate welding skills on stainless and mild steel
Experience with high-speed packaging/wrapping equipment and/or filling equipment.
Team orientated and achievement driven.
Experience in Safe Work Practices.
Good communication skills
Experience with CMMS (MEX).
Competent to use MS Word, MS Outlook, and other relevant software.
Must be able to machine using lathe and milling operations to a high standard.
Solid trouble shooting skills.
Able to read basic drawings and machine manual to fault find, Improve PM Documents and self educate
