The Opportunity

We are seeking a Trades Assistant to support our on-site maintenance team, who include fitters, electricians and technicians. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is keen to build a long-term career in FMCG.

You will assist with day-to-day maintenance activities, repairs, installations and general operational tasks, helping to ensure plant and equipment run safely and efficiently with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Support trades personnel with maintenance, repair and installation tasks

• Assist with lubrication and preventative maintenance activities

• Safely use hand tools and basic power tools

• Help maintain plant equipment to support continuous production

• Follow safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment

• Carry out general operational and housekeeping duties as required

About You

You are practical, safety-focused, mechanically minded and eager to learn, with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn

• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision

• Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude

• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety

• Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Experience & Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial or maintenance environment will be highly regarded

• Confidence using hand tools and basic power tools

• Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks (must be able to lift up to 20KG)

• Valid Australian driver’s licence

• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (must have full working rights. Due to the nature of this role we are unable to offer sponsorship or consider applicants on WHV)

Desirable (but not essential)

• Forklift licence (LF)

• EWP licence

• Basic mechanical or electrical training / pre-apprenticeship

• Previous experience as a Trades Assistant or in maintenance
