The Opportunity
We’re on the lookout for an R&D Technologist with strong consumer product labelling compliance and hands-on R&D experience to join our energetic team at our Ingleburn manufacturing site.
This newly created 12 Month Fixed Term Contract is ideal for someone currently working in Compliance or R&D who’s ready to take the next step into the compliance space within a fast-paced FMCG.
Reporting to the Group Regulatory Affairs Manager, with a dotted line to our Head of Safety & Quality ANZ, you’ll play a key role in supporting both our R&D team and the ongoing delivery of regulatory compliance across the business.
You’ll be central to new product launches, AS5812 updates, and the interpretation and implementation of new standards—bringing your FMCG or food manufacturing know-how into a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Labelling & Regulatory Compliance - Project Focus
Ensure all company policies, procedures, product labels, and development processes meet current regulatory standards and industry best practice. You’ll be our go-to for accurate, compliant labelling and standards management.
- Support Product Development
Work closely with R&D, QA, and Operations to ensure every product meets required regulations. You’ll help identify risks early, guide compliant innovation, and strengthen the link between development and regulatory expectations.
- Strengthen Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement
Champion GMP, GLP, GDP and support the maintenance of QMS, HACCP, and SQF programs. You’ll coach others in best practice and help drive a culture of quality across the site.
- Ad Hoc Project WorkYou will have the opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary projects across different sites and working on different brands such as Fussy Cat, Ivory Coat, Trilogy and more! You may also have the opportunity to flex your analytical skills to look a process improvements on how we report on raw material. There is also potential to organise product reviews for our marketing and sales teams.
What Will Help You Succeed
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar compliance role within the food industry (not a management role).
- Proven experience in labelling compliance with an understanding of regulatory standards.
- Experience with HACCP, BRC, SQF and quality documentation systems.
- PetCare experience and product compliance knowledge highly regarded.
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science or related field (or equivalent experience/training such as HACCP).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and numerical skills.
- A hands-on approach—this is not a lab-based role. You’ll be on the floor with Production, Operations, NPD, and Brand Operations ensuring compliance at every step.
