The Opportunity
In this newly created role, we are excited to welcome our newest member to our R&D Team based in our busy Ingleburn Manufacturing site as our R&D Technologist. This is a hands-on role and is an excellent opportunity for someone who is in a R&D technician role who is looking for career development.
Reporting to the Group Regulatory Affairs Manager with a dotted line to our Head of Safety and Quality ANZ, the R&D Technologist is responsible for supporting the Research & Development team while supporting the effective implementation and ongoing maintenance of regulatory compliance activities across the organization.
This role also fosters a culture of audit readiness, continuous improvement, and regulatory awareness across R&D and related functions.
What you will be doing:
- Champion Regulatory Compliance and Standards Management by ensuring all company policies, procedures, and product development processes align with current regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Support Product Development Activities by working closely with cross-functional teams—including R&D, Quality Assurance, and Operations—to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, proactively identify and resolve compliance risks, and support product innovation within a compliant framework.
- Anchor Quality Systems and Continuous Improvement Practices by providing leadership and guidance to quality and compliance team members in areas such as good manufacturing practices (GMP), good laboratory practices (GLP), good documentation practices (GDP), and supports the maintenance of the site’s Quality Management System (QMS), HACCP, and SQF programs.
What will help you succeed in this role:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within technical teams in the food industry. Please note, this isn't a management role.
- Experience in various systems and standards such as HACCP, BRC, SQF as well as Quality Documentation.
- PetCare experience and product compliance would be key benefit
- Tertiary qualification in food science / related agricultural science or relevant industry experience and training (ie HACCP)
- Excellent people skills and mathematical & communication skills, both written and oral
- Must have full working rights (Australian or NZ Citizen or PR)
