The Opportunity
Our Field Sales team are excited to be looking for a Territory Sales Representative (known internally as Territory Sales Manager) to be based in North Queensland, who's a real animal lover and ready to join our fast-paced business. We're one of Australia's fastest-growing companies in the pet industry and we're looking for someone who's not afraid to step into this autonomous hands-on role in one of our key territories.
In this customer-focused role you will be responsible for the growth and management of Pet Specialty retailers and wholesalers within an assigned geographical territory (QLD North from Capalaba to Port Douglas)
You’ll ensure the delivery of agreed KPIs including financial targets, call coverage, training, NPD, key execution metrics, and compliance in Pet Specialty.
Whilst you will work autonomously (our Head Office is in Crows Nest), you will be part of a team that values collaboration, celebrates the wins, and share the opportunities in the broader Pet Specialty market. This role does not have staff management responsibilities.
What you’ll do
- Assess sales growth opportunities within your territory and create robust plans to execute these
- Manage and grow our QLD territory by building strong relationships with Pet Specialty retailers and wholesalers.
- Implement and update field sales cycle plans and monthly priorities for the assigned territory.
- Train consumers on pet nutrition and be familiar with our pet food products.
- Manage merchandising responsibilities including stock management, replenishment, and building promotional displays.
- Acquire new business and drive in-store execution.
- Occasionally work Saturdays for in-store activities, shows, and events.
- Travel regionally, spending 3-4 nights away from home per month, and travel interstate for sales and product training.
What will help you succeed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven skills in team leadership and developing individuals to achieve their full potential.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
- Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
- Experience in sales repping and the pet industry.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve success in fast-paced environments.
Nice to have (but not essential)
- Experience working in a pet store or as a manager.
- Familiarity with pet food and nutrition.
- Experience with account management and merchandising
